Sidey Myoo (Michał Ostrowicki): Jest bardzo ważna. Z powodu szybkości zmian technologicznych powinno nas interesować nie tylko to, co dzieje się w tej chwili, ale i to, co nadejdzie. Przemiany, których doczekamy, będą wiązać się z różnego rodzaju władzą, dominacją i podporządkowaniem. Często powtarzam w czasie wykładów: oby to naukowcy potrafili jak najwięcej powiedzieć o przyszłości, zanim zajmie się tym biznesmen czy polityk. Dzięki futurologii możemy zajmować się problemami związanymi z nadchodzącymi technologiami, zanim nas one spotkają.

“One man and two worlds”. A humanities scholar facing the breakthrough in relations between man and technology.

The interview with a philosopher Sidey Myoo (Michał Ostrowicki) presents a reflection on the relationship between man and technology in the context of the significantly rapid development of the latter. The conversation concerns the most important issues related to the topic, e.g. the impact of technological progress on the perception of humanity and its various aspects, extension of the human nature of an electronic being, transhumanist movements. The key question is about the role of a discussion on technology and its development between scholars in the humanities.
