Shadowing jako budowanie relacji badacz–badany

Artykuł opisuje szczególny typ obserwacji, jakim jest shadowing. Autor prezentuje najważniejsze cechy oraz możliwości stosowania tego rodzaju techniki w badaniach. Skupia się na relacji badacz–badany. Pomocne w tej analizie są raporty obserwacyjne badaczy terenowych, uczestniczących w ogólnopolskim projekcie badawczym „Kompetencje lokalnych liderów edukacji kulturalnej. Studium metod, mediów i warunków kulturalnego oddziaływania na mieszkańców polskich miast”. Zaprezentowany artykuł stanowi próbę pokazania niewątpliwych zalet i trudności, z jakimi muszą zmierzyć się badacze terenowi, realizujący obserwację typu shadowing. Tekst nie jest tylko teoretycznym ujęciem tego tematu, gdyż zawiera również praktyczną wiedzę autora, wyniesioną z programowania i bezpośredniego realizowania projektów badawczych.

Abstract

Shadowing as building of researcher – respondent relation

The article describes a particular type of observation - the shadowing. The author presents the key characteristics and describes the possibility of using this type of observation in studies. The article focuses on the relationship between researcher and respondent. Reports of observational field researchers participating in a national research project “Competence of local cultural education leaders. Study of methods, media and the cultural impact on the residents of Polish cities” are used. The article tries to show the undeniable advantages and difficulties faced by field researchers using the type of shadowing observation. This text is not limited to theoretical aspects of the subject as it makes use of author’s practical knowledge and experiences during programming and direct implementation of research projects.
